Counsel, Commercial and Strategic Initiatives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a primary legal consultant integrated within Hometap’s operations.

• Offer legal and regulatory advice on issues related to data privacy, artificial intelligence, dispute resolution, and other pertinent areas.

• Provide counsel on strategic projects and enhance operational efficiency.

• Collaborate closely with departmental leaders to synchronize legal strategies with business goals.

• Optimize legal workflows.

• Draft, evaluate, and negotiate technology contracts, vendor agreements, and strategic partnership deals.

• Partner with finance, technology, and operations teams to ensure compliance and address third-party risks.

• Contribute to Hometap’s mission of enabling homeowners to access home equity without incurring debt through home equity investment solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

• Active membership in the bar.

• Minimum of four years of pertinent legal experience, including in-house experience.

• Preference for experience in consumer financial services, fintech, mortgage lending, or other heavily regulated, consumer-oriented sectors.

• Proficiency in structuring and negotiating commercial contracts.

• Ability to navigate unfamiliar legal areas with confidence.

• Expertise in translating complex legal requirements into clear, actionable advice for business stakeholders.
