This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Provide guidance to clients on procurement strategies and oversee the vendor prequalification process.
• Evaluate proposals, bids, and bid leveling documentation; offer recommendations and assist in contract awards.
• Oversee estimating services throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Create and review construction estimates, deliver estimates and cost plans, conduct benchmark analysis, and offer value engineering recommendations along with risk assessments.
• Scrutinize, validate, and question project costs and commercial assumptions with contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Set up cost reporting schedules and prepare as well as present cost reports and forecasts.
• Review project budgets and spending forecasts, maintain commercial risk registers, and facilitate project cost reviews.
• Manage cost control processes, which include reviewing payment applications, assessing contractor entitlements, evaluating change orders, and making commercial recommendations.
• Assist in contract administration and help prevent disputes.
• Oversee and track project invoicing processes.
• Compare project performance against historical data and similar projects.
• Handle final account negotiations, conduct post-contract audits, and manage project closeout activities.
• Perform lessons learned reviews and help implement best practices.
• Create procedures for project handover and closeout activities.
• Use cost estimating software, takeoff software, bid analysis tools, and change management documentation effectively.
• Work in collaboration with project managers, designers, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders.
• Comply with SOX control responsibilities as applicable.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost management, quantity surveying, estimating, or commercial management within the construction sector.
• Experience in supporting medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Preferred experience in supporting construction projects related to data centers, mission-critical facilities, advanced technology, industrial, manufacturing, or other highly technical areas.
• RICS accreditation or progress towards it is highly regarded.
• Previous experience in construction consultancy is strongly preferred.
• A solid understanding of construction procurement methods, value engineering, cost planning, and commercial management practices.
• Proven experience in preparing estimates, managing budgets, reviewing change orders, and producing cost reports throughout the project lifecycle.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
