Cost Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop ongoing cost estimates

• Offer analytical support for business proposals, design-to-cost initiatives, engineering modifications, and should-cost evaluations

• Facilitate coordination and collaboration among contracts, program management, engineering, supply chain, plant locations, and pricing

• Gather and interpret data

• Produce compliant estimate packages or analyses

• Aid in the development of new estimating tools and methodologies

• Engage actively in continuous improvement initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a University Degree along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 3 years of experience

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens are permitted to access information related to this program/contract

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly with MS Excel Pivot Tables, formulas, and macros

• Familiarity with manufacturing practices

• Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), product structures, and the ability to read engineering drawings

• Prior experience in cost estimation is preferred

• Knowledge of SAP systems is preferred

• Awareness of materials, labor and overhead rates, standards, and material or learning factors is preferred

• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and/or CORE methodologies is preferred
