This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Prepare estimates for environmental remediation projects utilizing Sage Estimating Software and Microsoft Excel.
• Oversee the preparation of estimates and provide support to proposal teams in developing technical approaches for remediation.
• Lead the review of estimates by the project team.
• Collaborate with project teams and management to formulate strategies and plans.
• Analyze estimates to foresee critical project challenges.
• Document assumptions clearly throughout the bidding process and during project execution.
• Assess business opportunities and potential profitability.
• Conduct financial analyses and compute profitability metrics.
• Possess an understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences across various disciplines.
• Supervise junior staff, set goals and expectations, and document both performance issues and successes.
• Identify and foster talent while participating in staffing discussions.
• Track action items efficiently.
• Prepare or assist in generating ROIC and IRR forecasts.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to address technical issues during proposals, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Prepare crew build-ups and determine production rates.
• Make selections for construction equipment.
• Apply knowledge of planning and scheduling.
• Comprehend the company’s cost structure, including overheads, G&A, and insurance.
• Develop Work Breakdown Structures.
• Evaluate scope and execution plans as the foundation for estimates.
• Prepare Estimate Plans, Bases of Estimate, and qualifications.
• Create bid tabulations that meet customer requirements and Requests for Proposals.
• Collect, analyze, and archive project data.
• Develop historical documentation and compare current estimates with past performance and market benchmarks.
• Prepare materials for presentations to the Executive Review Committee.
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration in Business AND 6+ years of experience related to estimation, including environmental remediation, OR a demonstrated equivalent of experience and/or education.
• Must successfully pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check.
• US Citizenship is required.
• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Proficiency in Sage Estimating Software.
• Willingness to travel nationwide, up to 40% of the time.
• Experience in preparing successful estimates for competitive, large-scale (>$10M), firm fixed-price performance-based environmental remediation projects is highly desired.
• Familiarity with the RACER cost estimating tool is preferred.
