This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with cost-allocation strategies, indirect-cost rates, and the accompanying narratives that clarify them.
• Track which expenses are categorized as direct, allocated, or unallowable concerning the agency's funding composition.
• Evaluate the agency's chart of accounts and allocation bases in comparison to the established plan.
• Create or revise a central-service or indirect-cost plan that the finance office can effectively defend.
• Determine the documentation that an auditor or cognizant agency would request to review.
• Provide methods and past-performance narratives for proposals only when authorized to do so.
• Specify the circulars, federal guidelines, or local policies referenced, ensuring not to fabricate a rate.
• Proven experience in preparing or revising a cost-allocation plan or indirect-cost rate for a government or public agency.
• Capability to articulate the allocation base and identify which departments or funds were incorporated.
• At least one plan or rate proposal that you can detail by agency, year, and your involvement.
• Proficiency in interpreting a chart of accounts and understanding a fund structure.
• Comfortable working as a 1099 project-based collaborator, including occasional travel to client locations.
• A negotiated indirect-cost rate agreement that you contributed to (preferred).
• Familiarity with 2 CFR Part 200 or experience with a state cognizant-agency review (preferred).
