This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee PETA’s shareholder initiatives.
• Prepare and present selected shareholder inquiries and resolutions during annual meetings of significant corporations.
• Garner support for PETA's initiatives from key institutional investors, endowments, and pension funds.
• Build relationships with humane investing organizations and groups.
• Investigate the animal and environmental policies implemented by leading corporations.
• Analyze historical proxies and voting patterns of institutional shareholders on animal-related and other matters.
• Evaluate shareholder activities to bolster PETA's mission.
• Research SEC regulations, deadlines, and details pertinent to each company's shareholder meetings.
• Keep records of companies where PETA holds stock, including eligibility for meeting attendance, question presentation, and resolution submission.
• Collaborate with PETA's broker and investment firm concerning shareholder activities.
• Travel as necessary to fulfill job obligations.
• Execute other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of two years' experience in corporate governance, investor relations, advocacy, public affairs, public policy, finance, law, or a related domain.
• Proven capability to apply logical reasoning in shareholder initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI tools, such as CoPilot.
• In-depth understanding of animal rights issues and PETA's campaigns.
• Exceptional critical thinking, organizational, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong research abilities, including conducting literature reviews, synthesizing data, and performing data analysis.
• Openness to receiving and acting on feedback.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, communicate at all organizational levels, and prioritize team success.
• Willingness and capability to travel as required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
