Corporate Counsel, IP Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee current and potential litigation, which includes lawsuits, demand letters, and various legal threats.

• Supervise outside counsel, litigation holds, e-discovery, document collection, and court submissions.

• Investigate conflicts, evaluate legal risks, formulate litigation strategies, and negotiate settlements.

• Provide advice to business teams regarding patent, trademark, copyright, right-of-publicity, and other intellectual property issues.

• Assist in the patent-harvesting initiative by assessing innovations and collaborating with external patent prosecution counsel.

• Handle trademark registration applications and take action against infringers, impersonators, and unauthorized uses across digital platforms.

• Recognize litigation risks and address regulatory inquiries and customer complaints.

• Offer practical advice on everyday legal matters.

• Create, implement, and uphold artificial intelligence governance policies and guidelines.

• Support commercial litigation, represent the organization in small claims cases, and advise on other legal issues as business requirements change.

• Report directly to the Senior Corporate Counsel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.

• Minimum of four years of pertinent experience in a law firm setting.

• Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar or eligibility for admission as in-house counsel in Massachusetts.

• Extensive experience in intellectual property litigation pertaining to patents, trademarks, copyrights, name, image and likeness, and right of publicity.

• Proven experience in managing intricate litigation and discovery processes, including case strategy, while collaborating with outside counsel and cross-functional teams.

• Strong legal and business acumen with a focus on practical, solutions-driven approaches.

• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and persuasive abilities.

• Capability to simplify complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Competence in managing multiple priorities, both independently and in collaboration with others.

• May need to acquire a gaming license issued by the relevant state agency as a condition of employment.
