This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary negotiator for the company’s most intricate, high-value, and strategically important agreements.
• Create, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts for clinical, development, manufacturing, commercial, and corporate activities.
• Define, manage, and continuously enhance the comprehensive contract lifecycle.
• Establish a multi-year contracting strategy, along with standards, thresholds, and a target operating model.
• Offer practical legal counsel and definitive recommendations aligned with business objectives and risk management.
• Assist in the initiation and execution of clinical trials, including clinical sites, investigators, informed consent, data privacy, study vendors, and clinical study agreements.
• Collaborate with Compliance to ensure that templates, standard terms, playbooks, fallback positions, and agreements comply with legal and regulatory standards.
• Aid in vendor selection and pre-contract risk evaluation in partnership with Procurement, Finance, Compliance, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Utilize AI and legal technology to enhance contracting processes and Legal operations.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Over 5 years of relevant legal experience acquired in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated life sciences sector is highly preferred.
• Proficient in drafting and negotiating a wide array of commercial agreements at an expert level.
• Clinical-development contracting experience is highly regarded.
• Capability to evaluate legal risk concerning business objectives and deliver practical, decisive recommendations.
• Familiarity with AI tools and a commitment to using emerging technologies responsibly.
• Proven history of developing and/or maintaining a contracting function or operational model, including templates, playbooks, policies, and governance.
• Ability to fulfill the specified physical and mental demands, including regular use of computers/devices, clear communication, occasional movement, screen work, hand coordination, and sustained focus.
