This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +20 more states.
β’ Manage legal affairs for designated Harris Healthcare business units
β’ Draft, evaluate, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements for clients and vendors
β’ Engage with licenses, resellers, services, technology development, and non-disclosure agreements
β’ Oversee the structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalization of corporate and commercial transactions, depending on experience level
β’ Develop and maintain template agreements that align with business and legal requirements
β’ Collaborate with the Legal & Compliance Department and cross-functional teams within Harris Healthcare
β’ Recognize needs, provide advice and counsel to internal clients, and facilitate business growth
β’ Advocate for business-unit interests while engaging with customers, vendors, and other partners
β’ Coordinate with external legal counsel on negotiations and dispute resolution
β’ Support various assigned legal issues
β’ Review and proactively assess legal trends and risks in the evolving regulatory landscape
β’ Over 4 years of experience from a reputable firm or organization
β’ Strong understanding of legal matters related to technology contracts, software licensing agreements, and US healthcare laws including HIPAA
β’ Proficient in US healthcare law, including HIPAA, data privacy, and security
β’ Experience in reviewing and drafting technology/software licensing agreements
β’ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
β’ Exceptional judgment
β’ Strong interpersonal skills
β’ Capable of delivering clear, concise legal advice and analysis in both verbal and written formats
β’ Competent in managing a broad range of matters, issues, and projects concurrently
β’ Must possess a JD Degree
β’ Must be a member in good standing of a State Bar
β’ Experience in international contracting; familiarity with GDPR, UK, and other global privacy regulations is a plus
β’ Experience in international medical device regulatory and/or contracting is an advantage
β’ Knowledge of the CCPA and other state privacy and breach notification laws is an asset
