Corporate Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Prepare, review, and negotiate procurement agreements, such as supplier contracts, vendor contracts, service agreements, and purchase orders.

• Ensure that contractual provisions are consistent with Coupa’s policies and legal standards.

• Enhance contract management procedures and establish best practices.

• Offer training and support to internal stakeholders on procurement procedures and contract management.

• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal, operational, and practical procurement risks.

• Address legal disputes effectively.

• Collaborate with procurement, compliance, security, finance, and senior leadership teams.

• Keep precise records of procurement-related legal documents and communications.

• Provide legal counsel on supplier performance disputes, contract violations, and compliance issues.

• Assist with corporate, real estate, marketing, ESG, and subsidiary management matters over time.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent foreign law degree.

• Active membership in a local bar and in good standing.

• Over 5 years of legal experience concentrating on procurement or commercial contracts.

• In-house experience is preferred.

• Strong business acumen and experience advising business stakeholders on legal terms and transaction implications.

• Knowledge of implementing and operationalizing sourced products or services.

• Ability to collaborate with internal buyers and procurement stakeholders.

• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to juggle competing priorities.

• Eagerness to mentor other legal professionals and embrace new responsibilities.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.

• High level of attention to detail.

• Strong analytical skills and capability to utilize data to assess outcomes.

• Experience with customer-facing contracts, risk management, or compliance is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Experience in a technology company is a plus.
