This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +34 more states.
• Deliver specialized support and subject matter expertise to the U.S. legal team across various areas including commercial, product development, regulatory compliance, intellectual property usage, and litigation issues.
• Counsel internal business associates on legal risks impacting the organization and collaborate on strategies for risk management.
• Develop and operationalize essential legal processes while implementing legal operations tools.
• Keep abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and industry guidelines pertinent to digital health.
• Collaborate with Product, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, and Marketing teams to ensure adherence to internal policies along with legal and regulatory obligations.
• Evaluate marketing and corporate communications materials.
• Identify and assist in the creation of training materials and policy and procedure documentation.
• Facilitate the expansion of domestic operations.
• Report directly to the Deputy General Counsel/US Commercial and Legal Operations.
• Escalate business and legal concerns as necessary.
• Assist in managing relationships with outside legal counsel.
• Over 7 years of general legal experience at a law firm or in-house, specifically within the digital health, life sciences, or healthcare sectors.
• Prior knowledge and experience with legal and regulatory issues relevant to a digital health enterprise, including marketing-related matters.
• Experience with reimbursement, licensing, and credentialing issues would be advantageous.
• General understanding of business functions and processes within a digital health or healthcare organization.
• Proficient understanding and ability to identify, assess risk, and solve legal issues relevant to this industry.
• Previous in-house experience is a plus.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in a recognized U.S. jurisdiction and an active member of a state bar in good standing.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues while balancing legal risks and business objectives with a solution-driven approach.
• Strong business acumen; capability to assimilate information effectively, think strategically, and execute tasks efficiently.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with proven effectiveness in consensus building and negotiation.
• Capability to work at a computer terminal with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and perform frequent repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions, as well as lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Proficient in verbal communication, auditory comprehension, and visual detail perception.
• Must reside in one of the specified states.
