This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Assist in the legal assessment of new and developing digital health products, services, partnerships, and data-use initiatives.
• Evaluate questionnaires for emerging services, as well as alpha/beta pilots, service descriptions, and readiness for general availability.
• Offer initial legal analysis and practical guidance regarding privacy, health data laws, FDA regulations, and privacy operations.
• Analyze data-use inquiries.
• Provide support for interoperability and patient record-sharing workstreams.
• Recognize antitrust and competition issues.
• Aid in addressing innovative AI-related legal questions while keeping abreast of evolving laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with the information security team on matters related to AI, national security, and similar topics.
• Convert complex legal requirements into scalable processes, playbooks, templates, and operational guidelines.
• Keep track of emerging laws, regulations, litigation, enforcement trends, and industry advances affecting digital health, privacy, interoperability, AI, patient access, and regulated data usage.
• Compose concise, business-focused legal guidance, stakeholder communications, issue summaries, and decision records.
• Provide support for transactional activities, including M&A and strategic investments, as required.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a reputable law school.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Admission to the Massachusetts state bar or another U.S. state bar.
• 2–5 years of experience in business contracts and regulatory matters.
• Previous in-house or large law firm experience is advantageous.
• Experience in regulatory matters, particularly within the health industry or FDA, is a plus.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
