Controls Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Act as a subject matter expert in Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) within the Innovation and Engineering team.

• Aid in the design and implementation of BMS and EPMS across STACK projects.

• Collaborate with Preconstruction, Construction leadership, design teams, and OFCI vendors to set, maintain, and govern controls requirements.

• Analyze customer technical specifications and Basis of Design requirements.

• Assess drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, control diagrams, points lists, network architectures, and equipment integration needs.

• Partner with engineering teams to address design gaps and technical conflicts.

• Evaluate design drawing packages created by Engineers of Record.

• Review mechanical and electrical equipment submittal packages.

• Synchronize requirements among design teams, construction teams, controls contractors, and equipment vendors.

• Collaborate directly with construction teams during project execution.

• Support commissioning activities to ensure installed controls systems meet approved design and project specifications.

• Convey controls requirements to relevant project stakeholders.

• Work with design teams to integrate customer requirements into project design and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Controls Manager with expertise in BMS and EPMS.

• Skilled in interpreting and developing controls requirements related to Sequence of Operations, including instrumentation, sensor selection, control points, alarms, trends, setpoints, interlocks, permissive, fail-safe conditions, and equipment operating sequences.

• Technical proficiency in BMS and/or EPMS system design, integration, architecture, and operation.

• Familiarity with field devices, equipment controllers, supervisory controllers, meters, gateways, servers, and front-end platforms in an integrated controls environment.

• Capability to review mechanical and electrical equipment submittals for alignment with controls specifications, communication needs, factory-installed controls, interface points, gateway requirements, and project design intent.

• Ability to read, interpret, and review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Strong grasp of mechanical and electrical building systems along with their monitoring and controls.

• Experience with BMS and/or EPMS systems; deep expertise in either mechanical or electrical controls is encouraged.

• Comprehensive understanding of the construction process and collaboration among design, construction, vendors, and controls contractors.

• Proficient in construction management software and project documentation.

• Ability to function as a subject matter expert across diverse project stakeholders.

• Capable of independently interpreting customer or owner requirements and translating them into actionable project documentation.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• Must successfully complete a comprehensive background and drug screening.

• Domestic travel is required; approximately 30%.
