Controls Engineer Technician II – Field Service Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist the field service engineering team with Active Protection Systems (APS).

• Deliver hands-on technical support for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of APS kits on military vehicles and platforms.

• Collaborate with U.S. military personnel, foreign supplier partners, vehicle prime contractors, and other stakeholders at customer locations.

• Contribute to the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices.

• Set up, configure, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems and prototypes.

• Aid in testing systems, devices, and instruments.

• Record testing procedures and document performance results using established methods.

• Manage inventory of supplies and tools utilized for testing and maintenance.

• Perform diagnostic testing and identify system malfunctions in the field.

• Propose suitable remedial actions in the field.

• Install and calibrate production system platforms.

• Directly engage with customers, suppliers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

• Travel, including potential OCONUS trips.

⛳️ Requirements

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree with 1–2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

• Capability to obtain a Security Clearance.

• Familiarity with electronic equipment installation.

• Knowledge of engineering support.

• Understanding of laboratory supply management.

• Expertise in performance analysis.

• Proficient technical troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to report testing results.

• Knowledge of control systems.

• Familiarity with electro-mechanical components/instruments.

• Skills in test documentation.

• Equipment repair capabilities.

• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.

• Ability to remain stationary at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.

• Capacity to move regularly throughout GD-OTS facilities.

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.

• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying climates and/or to operate machinery.

• Readiness to adjust work shifts if necessary.

• Willingness to work beyond normal business hours as required.

• Anticipate over 50% travel.
