Controls Engineer Technician II – Field Service Representative

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Assist the field service engineering team with Active Protection Systems (APS).

β€’ Deliver hands-on technical support for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of APS kits on military vehicles and platforms.

β€’ Collaborate with U.S. military personnel, foreign supplier partners, vehicle prime contractors, and other stakeholders at customer locations.

β€’ Contribute to the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices.

β€’ Set up, configure, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems and prototypes.

β€’ Aid in testing systems, devices, and instruments.

β€’ Record testing procedures and document performance results using established methods.

β€’ Manage inventory of supplies and tools utilized for testing and maintenance.

β€’ Perform diagnostic testing and identify system malfunctions in the field.

β€’ Propose suitable remedial actions in the field.

β€’ Install and calibrate production system platforms.

β€’ Directly engage with customers, suppliers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

β€’ Travel, including potential OCONUS trips.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Vocational/Technical Training Degree with 1–2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

β€’ Capability to obtain a Security Clearance.

β€’ Familiarity with electronic equipment installation.

β€’ Knowledge of engineering support.

β€’ Understanding of laboratory supply management.

β€’ Expertise in performance analysis.

β€’ Proficient technical troubleshooting skills.

β€’ Ability to report testing results.

β€’ Knowledge of control systems.

β€’ Familiarity with electro-mechanical components/instruments.

β€’ Skills in test documentation.

β€’ Equipment repair capabilities.

β€’ Proficiency in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.

β€’ Ability to remain stationary at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.

β€’ Capacity to move regularly throughout GD-OTS facilities.

β€’ Ability to stand for prolonged periods.

β€’ Willingness to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying climates and/or to operate machinery.

β€’ Readiness to adjust work shifts if necessary.

β€’ Willingness to work beyond normal business hours as required.

β€’ Anticipate over 50% travel.
