Controls Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide engineering assistance to clients by troubleshooting and resolving design issues.

• Oversee product life cycle and manage the design and execution of roadmaps.

• Select and validate sensors, actuators, and electronic components for effective system integration.

• Identify and lead initiatives for product enhancements.

• Create new algorithms for improved functionality.

• Recognize system or component obsolescence and pursue opportunities for cost reduction.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize technical and project processes utilizing JIRA, Confluence, Word, and other tools.

• Provide support for on-site control system and locomotive commissioning at rail yards worldwide.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold product quality and value.

• Deliver engineering support for ZTR's environmentally-focused products within the rail industry.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting products as an Electrical Engineer.

• At least 2 years of experience in field service.

• A relevant degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control, or Electronics.

• Expertise in PLCs, particularly Siemens and Rockwell.

• Strong skills in technical writing and documentation.

• Experience across all stages of the development life cycle.

• In-depth knowledge of control algorithms and design methodologies.

• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, such as Profinet and RS-232.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Willingness to travel 20%-25% and operate in industrial settings.
