This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a trusted advisor to various retail business presidents, customizing financial insights to meet operational requirements.
• Leverage retail operations expertise to assist with cost control, product margin evaluation, vendor management, and inventory forecasting.
• Convert financial data into strategic recommendations that can be implemented.
• Oversee comprehensive accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and payroll.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and adjustments for deferred revenue.
• Supervise inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation and reduction of shrinkage.
• Maintain a 13-week cash flow projection and suggest solutions for working capital.
• Prepare trial balances, variance analyses, and financial reporting dashboards utilizing OneStream or similar platforms.
• Collaborate on budget planning, quarterly reviews, and long-term strategic goals.
• Provide KPIs that reflect operational performance and margin trends.
• Drive enhancements across accounting systems, POS integrations, and reporting workflows.
• Support internal controls and document financial procedures for retail operations.
• Optimize multi-location inventory management and seasonal adjustments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting position.
• Demonstrated experience in retail accounting, ideally within multi-location setups.
• Experience working in small to medium-sized enterprises.
• Tech-savvy and proactive; adept in remote, fast-paced settings.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, POS systems, and Excel.
• Familiarity with US GAAP regulations.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Experience with fractional or outsourced accounting is advantageous.
