This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.
• Take ownership of the global analytical framework for assessing store performance and drive continuous improvements.
• Establish consistent financial and operational KPIs across various countries, store formats, and stages of maturity.
• Conduct analysis on extensive store portfolios to detect trends, anomalies, and performance discrepancies.
• Differentiate between controllable operational factors and influences from market, format, location, and maturity.
• Evaluate performance potential at the store, cluster, region, and country levels.
• Prioritize opportunities based on their value, feasibility, and anticipated impact on the business.
• Construct driver trees and clarify variances in sales, gross profit, labor productivity, operating expenses, inventory losses, and store contributions.
• Collaborate with country Finance and Operations teams to validate insights and transform analyses into improvement hypotheses and measurable actions.
• Create global benchmarks, peer groups, store ramp-up curves, portfolio segmentation, trend and cohort analyses, and scenario-based business cases.
• Design performance narratives suitable for management using Power BI, SAP, and other relevant data sources.
• Deliver concise, data-driven recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to the establishment of global performance steering standards and reporting solutions.
• Several years of relevant experience in controlling, FP&A, commercial analytics, or performance management, preferably in grocery retail, multi-site retail, or similar operational network businesses.
• A university degree in business administration, finance, economics, business analytics, data science, or a related field.
• A proven track record of analyzing large and diverse datasets, identifying root causes, and translating findings into commercially viable recommendations.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, Power Query, and DAX.
• Strong capabilities in Excel.
• Practical experience with SAP, SAP BW, and/or S/4HANA is highly advantageous.
• A solid understanding of store economics and key retail drivers such as sales density, gross margin, labor productivity, shrinkage, occupancy costs, store maturity, and contribution profitability.
• Ability to differentiate between correlation and causation, constructively challenge data and assumptions, and communicate limitations transparently.
• Confidence in engaging with international stakeholders, balancing global comparability with local business realities, and influencing without direct authority.
• Excellent command of English.
• Proficiency in German is a plus but not mandatory.
