This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Develop and sustain a comprehensive three-statement model focusing on B2BC white-labeled travel and experience booking platform licensing, as well as direct-to-member revenue streams.
• Supervise revenue recognition for intricate customer contracts, sales terms, and non-standard agreements.
• Ensure that partner billing, minimum commitments, revenue sharing, rewards funding, supplier contracts, renewals, escalators, credits, and late fees are financially managed.
• Conduct regular audits to identify revenue leakage, under-billing, margin erosion, missed renewals, and deviations from contracts.
• Prepare diligence materials for investors and strategic partners, which includes data-room financials, KPI packages, and unit economics.
• Create fundraising models addressing the use of proceeds, runway, dilution, cap table scenarios, and valuation sensitivities.
• Model potential enterprise and white-label partner deals, factoring in margin waterfalls, revenue shares, rewards funding, points liability, cash timing, working capital, and inventory exposure.
• Execute base, upside, and downside scenarios to assist in go/no-go decisions for large or non-standard deals.
• Aid the CEO in discussions with investors, board reporting, and financial strategy.
• Manage order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes across suppliers and enterprise partners, including consolidated partner billing.
• Reconcile transaction, points, and payment data across the platform, processors, suppliers, and general ledger.
• Establish approval thresholds and controls for discounts, credits, refunds, and non-standard terms.
• Align contract templates with finance billing, reconciliation, and collection capabilities.
• Supervise bookkeeping and accounting tasks, monthly closings, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, revenue recognition, loyalty liabilities, deferred revenue, inventory prepayments, and supplier deposits.
• Lead the accounting integration of M&A activities, encompassing purchase accounting, entity consolidation, chart-of-accounts alignment, and intercompany treatment.
• Review and approve monthly financial reports and deliver management reporting including variance analysis.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors, covering sales, transient occupancy, multi-state, international, and payroll tax issues.
• Oversee payroll, expense management, and benefits accounting in collaboration with HR.
• Enhance internal controls and documentation for enterprise partner security and vendor reviews.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital, including supplier payment schedules and inventory exposure.
• Define and report key metrics such as gross bookings, take rate, net revenue margin, points issued versus redeemed, breakage, partner engagement and redemption rates, CAC, LTV, churn, burn multiple, and runway.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including prior roles as CFO, VP of Finance, or Controller.
• Proven track record in building fundraising models and facilitating equity or debt raises.
• Strong expertise in revenue recognition, including principal vs. agent analysis, contract-driven billing, and accounting operations.
• Advanced financial modeling capabilities; experience with FP&A tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with modern accounting, billing, and payment systems, such as QuickBooks, Stripe, Bill.com.
• Experience in M&A integration, including purchase accounting and consolidation.
• Comfortable interacting with founders, investors, enterprise partners, and external counsel.
• Ability to work independently in a part-time, high-autonomy role.
• Preferred: Experience in loyalty and rewards, travel or ticketing marketplaces, fintech, or B2B2C platforms.
• Preferred: Background in accounting for points, gift cards, or other stored-value liabilities.
• Preferred: Experience with enterprise partnerships involving banks, card issuers, or large consumer brands.
• Preferred: CPA, CFA, or MBA credentials.
• Preferred: Experience with growth-stage companies, particularly Series A through C.
• This is a part-time, also known as fractional, position and is not eligible for benefits.
