This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assume full responsibility for and play a pivotal role in developing the controlling function.

• Evaluate budget-to-actual discrepancies and establish suitable business measures.

• Generate budgets, forecasts, reports, and liquidity summaries for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Oversee and implement monthly reporting, including commentary on business management reports (BWA).

• Actively assist with upcoming annual financial statements in compliance with the German Commercial Code (HGB), including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.

• Aid in ongoing financial accounting tasks, encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting.

• Review, categorize, and record incoming and outgoing invoices with a high level of precision.

• Conduct intercompany reconciliations and settlements among entities.

• Manage payment transactions.

• Collaborate with tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.

• Work closely with the CFO.

• Develop reporting and controlling frameworks across various entities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in controlling, preferably within a multi-entity environment or in a role with extensive ownership and responsibility.

• Strong expertise in controlling, including the ability to derive KPIs, forecasts, and business measures from financial data while independently constructing reporting structures.

• Solid background in accounting, covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting.

• Experience in detailed invoice review and coding.

• Comprehensive understanding of financial statements prepared under the German Commercial Code (HGB); prior experience supporting annual financial statements is preferred.

• Proficiency in DATEV is essential.

• Advanced skills in Excel.

• Quick learner with a high level of independence and a keen attention to detail.

• Business-fluent in both German and English, written and spoken.

• Initial experience with BI tools and developing reporting structures from the ground up is advantageous.

• Background in hospitality, real estate, or a multi-entity environment is a plus.

• Interest in automation and process optimization, including API integrations and automated bookkeeping, is beneficial.
