This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the monthly closing process and produce precise financial statements along with variance commentary for the review of the CEO and fractional CFO.

• Oversee revenue recognition and deferred revenue management across various subledger accounts.

• Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliations, payroll coordination, and ongoing accounting activities.

• Manage sales tax obligations and ensure the maintenance of relevant records and documentation.

• Generate actuals-based product-line profit and loss statements, customer profitability analyses, driver reporting, and management accounting reports.

• Collaborate with the CEO to pinpoint and implement core business metrics within the monthly financial reporting package.

• Work alongside the external CPA to ensure compliance with tax regulations, documentation, and accounting needs.

• Keep an organized chart of accounts, journal entry log, closing checklist, and supporting financial documentation.

• Create and uphold standard operating procedures for routine accounting processes.

• Cultivate working relationships with the CEO, fractional CFO, external CPA, and internal stakeholders.

• Ensure the monthly close is consistently completed within 10 business days.

• Establish and execute documented accounting controls and processes.

• Deliver accurate monthly financial statements and create efficient processes with the external CPA and fractional CFO.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or a related discipline.

• CPA or an international equivalent is preferred.

• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience is preferred; candidates with at least 5 years of outstanding experience managing deferred revenue at scale may also be considered.

• Direct experience in managing deferred revenue in a multi-channel business that includes subscriptions, gift cards, platform credits, customer prepayments, or similar revenue models.

• Strong experience in preparing actuals-based product-line profit and loss statements, customer profitability analyses, variance reporting, and business-driver reporting.

• Extensive hands-on experience with month-end closing, financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger oversight.

• Experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll coordination, sales tax compliance, and collaboration with external CPAs or accounting professionals.

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

• Familiarity with contemporary accounting and finance technologies.

• Advanced skills in spreadsheet creation and financial reporting.

• Solid understanding of revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting principles.

• Ability to develop and maintain accounting standard operating procedures, closing checklists, financial schedules, and supporting documentation.

• Detail-oriented and precision-focused, with a strong sense of ownership and pride in maintaining accurate and organized financial records.

• Comfortable collaborating with a fractional CFO who reviews accounting work and is responsible for forward-looking planning and forecasting.
