This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as AeroVect’s inaugural finance team member

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP

• Manage the consolidation of multiple entities, foreign currency accounting, and intercompany transactions among US, Canadian, and UK operations

• Take charge of revenue recognition

• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Implement effective controls and collaborate with external advisors on tax compliance and audit preparation

• Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and financial modeling

• Collaborate with department leaders to align hiring, deployment strategies, and expenditures with business objectives

• Maintain forecasts for short- and long-term cash flows, including working capital, capital expenditures, and financing requirements

• Evaluate customer and deployment economics, pricing strategies, and growth scenarios

• Enhance accounting and planning systems, including the selection or implementation of ERP systems as necessary

• Leverage automation and AI tools to minimize manual tasks while ensuring dependable review processes

• Assist in assessing debt and equipment financing options

• Compile financial diligence documents and support fundraising initiatives alongside leadership and external advisors

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of advancing experience in accounting and finance, with responsibility for financial closing and reporting within a growing organization

• CPA certification or an equivalent professional accounting qualification

• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, particularly in ASC 606 revenue recognition

• Experience working independently in a small finance team or as the primary accounting lead

• Capability to develop processes and execute tasks personally

• Proven track record of managing budgets, cash flow forecasts, financial models, and variance analysis

• Ability to articulate operational assumptions into financial impacts and actionable recommendations

• Familiarity with multi-entity accounting and international operations

• Experience with US financial reporting and collaboration with external tax advisors

• Proficient in spreadsheets and financial systems

• Strong judgment and effective communication skills

• Background in a VC-backed company, especially within robotics, hardware, industrial automation, or logistics (preferred)

• Experience with inventory management and hardware, as well as robotics-as-a-service models (preferred)

• Background in implementing ERP systems and utilizing modern finance tools (preferred)

• Experience in supporting equity fundraising, debt facilities, equipment financing, or financial due diligence (preferred)
