This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Review, negotiate, and ensure the consistency of customer contracts, vendor agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Safeguard margins, manage contractual risks, support deal velocity, and take accountability for contract handling.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Implementation, Finance, and Security teams.
• Transition agreements from Sales following a deal win and drive them through to execution.
• Manage redline rounds with carrier procurement and legal teams, monitor versions, maintain timelines, and escalate any delays.
• Oversee vendor risk reviews, supplier-system registration, insurance certificates, tax and payment documentation, and security questionnaires.
• Familiarize yourself with each carrier's process to expedite future deals.
• Provide Implementation with a documented set of contractual commitments post-signature.
• Negotiate pricing structures, payment terms, service levels, renewal and termination provisions, as well as performance credits.
• Establish and consistently apply standard contract positions and walk-away lines.
• Manage vendor agreements and business associate agreements comprehensively.
• Maintain the vendor renewal calendar and negotiate renewals at least 60 days prior to expiration.
• Track vendor spending, usage, seats, and tiers.
• Own the contract repository and obligation tracker for both client and vendor agreements.
• Assess when non-standard matters necessitate outside counsel.
• Enhance contract cycle time and the consistency of contract terms.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• A minimum of 5 years in contracts, procurement, vendor management, or deal operations, including experience with enterprise B2B agreements, is required.
• Experience in the healthcare industry, such as health plans, payers, providers, or healthcare services companies, is required.
• Proven experience negotiating with or working within a large health plan or carrier procurement organization is required.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and business associate agreements is required.
• Experience managing contracts independently, rather than supporting a legal or procurement team, is required.
• Experience on the buying side of enterprise procurement is preferred.
• CPSM, CPCM, CCCM, paralegal certificate, or similar credential is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Medicare Advantage and Medicaid program requirements is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate directly with enterprise counterparties and maintain a firm position under pressure.
• Comfort operating within large organizational procurement processes.
• Sound judgment regarding when to escalate questions.
• Comfort using AI tools in daily tasks.
• Curiosity about how emerging technologies relate to the role.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive client, contract, and company information.
