Contract Technical Recruiter – AI/ML

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ethiopia.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive recruiting for AI, ML, and Data Science positions from initial intake to the signing of offers.

• Collaborate with Abe and hiring managers to develop role scorecards that differentiate between AI Engineer, ML Engineer, and Data Scientist profiles.

• Identify passive candidates via LinkedIn, GitHub, Kaggle, university networks such as AAU and AASTU, local tech communities, meetups, and referrals.

• Establish and sustain at least three effective sourcing channels to minimize agency costs.

• Evaluate candidates for their technical expertise, including completed projects, frameworks utilized, and experience in production versus research.

• Organize interview processes, keep candidates updated, and ensure follow-ups within two business days.

• Oversee offer management and closing, including discussions around compensation and counter-offer risks.

• Maintain a minimum of 95% ATS completeness and generate weekly pipeline and metrics reports.

• Leverage AI and automation tools for sourcing, outreach, and scheduling tasks.

• Collaborate with Ten Academy as an additional talent resource.

• Provide a documented playbook detailing channels, templates, scorecards, and benchmarks prior to contract conclusion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven technical sourcing experience, with a track record of personally locating and securing engineers.

• In-depth understanding of the Ethiopian tech talent landscape, including locations and compensation for AI/ML talent.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

• Over 5 years of experience in recruiting.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience hiring software, data science, and AI/ML talent in Ethiopia or East Africa.

• Availability to work primarily between 9:30 AM and 6:30 PM ET.

• Player/coach mentality, ready to both execute tasks and lead initiatives.

• Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines effectively.
