Contract IT Systems Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the reliability of the current 10-bay QNAP NAS and its integration with Dropbox Business.

• Ensure the QNAP NAS is functioning optimally and that storage is configured appropriately.

• Develop workflows for transferring active projects to Dropbox and for returning completed tasks to the NAS.

• Grant secure remote access to archived files for authorized team members.

• Assess permissions and administrator access levels.

• Establish an independent secondary backup for invaluable footage and confirm the file restoration process.

• Document the setup, recovery procedures, and account ownership details.

• Provide continuous maintenance and troubleshooting following the initial cleanup phase.

• Evaluate the existing NAS, Dropbox, and network configuration, delivering a written report of necessary repairs within the first month.

• Execute approved tasks and demonstrate file transfers between the NAS and Dropbox, including remote access when required.

• Document the completed setup, agree on a distinct backup strategy, and test the file restoration process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in constructing and maintaining business network systems.

• Expertise in building storage solutions compatible with cloud platforms, including NAS devices and services like Dropbox.

• Must indicate an hourly rate, specifying the currency.

• Required to submit a Loom video of up to 3 minutes detailing qualifications and ongoing availability.

• Must provide evidence of relevant work, such as one or two examples of network or storage systems designed or maintained.

• Capacity to collaborate with on-site personnel when physical access is necessary.

• Availability for continual work.

• Proficiency in reliable communication and documenting work processes.

• Must be comfortable with project-based independent contractor roles instead of solely retainer-based work.
