This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Assess insurance policies, claims documentation, endorsements, carrier guidelines, and records to evaluate coverage.
• Conduct investigations into claims utilizing official documentation, police and hospital records, physical damage assessments, and written estimates.
• Engage in interviews and correspondence with claimants and witnesses.
• Calculate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation.
• Compile findings reports and negotiate settlements for claims.
• Issue settlement payments and prepare regulatory documentation.
• Manage salvage and subrogation processes as necessary.
• Suggest litigation when negotiations for settlements are unsuccessful.
• Attend litigation hearings and participate in depositions as required.
• Adjust case reserves to account for anticipated costs.
• Maintain an efficient caseload by utilizing technology and automation tools.
• Forward claims with gross losses exceeding $15,000 to leadership for approval.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Must secure the IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months of starting in the role.
• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Previous experience in property and casualty claims is advantageous but not necessary.
• A compassionate approach to claims handling is essential.
• Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in computer usage, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Capability to produce thorough, accurate, and constructive written reports.
