Contentful Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of a scalable headless CMS architecture.

• Design and implement Contentful content models, spaces, and environments that meet business requirements.

• Create and maintain integrations between Contentful, frontend frameworks like React/Next.js and Vue, and backend services through REST/GraphQL APIs.

• Develop custom scripts for content type creation and migration using the Contentful App Framework and CMA/CDA SDKs.

• Work collaboratively with content strategists, designers, and engineers to establish scalable content structures.

• Enhance content delivery performance.

• Oversee localization and multi-locale configurations.

• Assist in migrating legacy content into Contentful.

• Set up best practices for content governance, webhooks, and CI/CD pipelines for content operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience with Contentful or a comparable headless CMS in production settings.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks.

• Knowledge of Contentful Content Management API (CMA), Content Delivery API (CDA), and GraphQL API.

• Experience in content modeling for scalability and reusability.

• Understanding of API-first and headless architecture principles.

• Bonus: experience with Contentful Merge, Apps SDK, or migration tools.

• Previous involvement in digital transformation or replatforming initiatives preferred.

• Understanding of DevOps/CI-CD workflows for content and code deployment.

• Strong communication skills with a proactive attitude.

• Availability during core working hours aligned with the Australian AEST time zone.
