📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Editor and Program Manager to refine and finalize writing assignments.

• Conduct thorough historical research to support various assignments.

• Create record descriptions, personalized narratives based on historical documents, and blog entries.

• Ensure all assignments adhere to style guidelines, uphold quality and tone, align with departmental goals and values, and demonstrate awareness of the audience.

• Support facts and information with comprehensive research.

• Complete writing assignments by the designated submission deadlines.

• Provide updates and reports to the Editor and Program Manager upon request.

⛳️ Requirements

• MUST HAVE experience in Australian genealogy research and writing.

• Specialized knowledge in Australian history and genealogy.

• Familiarity with Australian historical records, family history research, and record accessibility.

• Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and documentation.

• Experience in writing about historical occurrences.

• Experience in addressing sensitive subjects in writing.

• Background in African American studies, Latin American studies, Native American studies, Asian American studies, American studies, British studies, French studies, European studies, or Australian studies.

• Exceptional writing and editing capabilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and standards effectively.

• Capacity to adhere to a style guide and maintain the appropriate tone.

• Proficient internet and research skills.

• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proven self-starter.

• Experience in family history.

• Preferably a degree in history, English, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional writing experience.
