Content Reviewer – Bachelor of Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Assess detailed study guides, educational materials, and evaluation activities in line with approved module outlines and institutional templates.

• Analyze learning content for conformity with programme outcomes, curriculum requirements, institutional standards, and NQF expectations.

• Review both formative and summative assessments for their validity, reliability, and academic rigor.

• Ensure that learning materials are up-to-date, academically robust, and incorporate relevant research and best practices.

• Evaluate content for appropriateness in distance and blended learning settings.

• Maintain accuracy in language, uphold academic integrity, and ensure instructional quality and consistency across all learning materials.

• Collaborate with Programme Coordinators, Subject Matter Experts, Editors, and the Quality Assurance Office.

• Provide academic feedback alongside recommendations for necessary revisions and updates.

• Ensure adherence to institutional quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements.

• Meet review milestones and submission deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree in Education or a related discipline pertinent to the module(s) applied for (essential).

• A minimum of two years' experience in higher education, curriculum review, content review, academic writing, or development of learning materials.

• Proven experience in reviewing study guides, educational materials, or assessments within the higher education sector.

• Strong expertise in the relevant academic discipline.

• Exceptional academic writing, curriculum review, and instructional design capabilities.

• Solid understanding of curriculum development and assessment practices in higher education.

• Familiarity with South African higher education policies, teaching and learning practices, and curriculum frameworks.

• Knowledge of South African higher education quality assurance frameworks.

• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining academic quality.

• Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple deadlines.

• Strong communication, planning, and collaboration abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms.

• Computer literacy, with access to a reliable internet connection and either a laptop or desktop computer.

• A recognized teaching qualification will be a plus where applicable.

• Experience in distance or online education will be advantageous.

• A doctoral qualification or ongoing doctoral studies is an additional advantage.

• Previous experience in reviewing learning materials for private higher education institutions is a bonus.

• Experience in Long Distance and e-Learning environments is a plus.

• Knowledge of learning management systems and educational technologies is an additional asset.
