Content Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Conduct research on trending blog topics within the industry, utilizing keyword research provided by the SEO team.

• Collaborate with the SEO specialist to acquire new and relevant keywords on a monthly basis.

• Produce 4–6 blog briefs weekly through comprehensive research.

• Review and edit articles, blog posts, and marketing materials for grammatical precision, clarity, and consistency.

• Rectify spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors.

• Ensure that content adheres to the style guide while maintaining the brand’s voice and tone.

• Work alongside writers and offer constructive feedback.

• Verify the accuracy and credibility of content through fact-checking.

• Suggest improvements for content, which may include restructuring, clarifying points, and adding additional information.

• Transfer final blog drafts to WordPress.

• Design blog title images with assistance from the graphic designer.

• Publish blogs and perform final reviews.

• Create and distribute the monthly blog newsletter.

• Format content to be answer-engine-friendly to enhance citations across LLMs and AI search engines.

• Update existing blogs with current data, examples, product details, title images, and AEO/SEO optimizations.

• Engage in ongoing AEO/AIO analysis and experimentation to boost brand visibility in AI-driven searches.

• Write product-oriented blogs for new launches.

• Develop email marketing and banner content for new product launches.

• Construct and schedule email campaigns using ActiveCampaign.

• Collaborate with the Tech team to gather customer data for email campaigns.

• Identify and implement new AEO/SEO trends and content strategies.

• Assist with monthly performance reporting utilizing GSC and GA4.

• Perform market research tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience as a Content Editor, Copy Editor, or in a comparable role, with a robust portfolio of editing samples: 5 to 7 years of experience.

• Superior command of written English, encompassing excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify errors or inconsistencies.

• Knowledge of Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI Optimization (AIO) concepts, including the structuring of content for LLM visibility and search citations.

• Familiarity with SEO, understanding of what constitutes great content, and the ability to optimize accordingly based on updated best practices.

• Exceptional time management skills and the capability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback to writers.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.

• Experience in a fast-paced environment, adept at prioritizing tasks efficiently.
