This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Lead and execute the monthly accounting close.

• Ensure timely and standardized delivery of consolidated financial information in dollars to the headquarters in Ecuador.

• Manage compliance with local tax obligations in Costa Rica and intercompany requirements.

• Apply criteria for international agreements and currency differentials.

• Evaluate, propose, and facilitate the integration or migration of the chart of accounts and local accounting records to QuickBooks.

• Optimize data traceability.

• Coordinate accounting and purchasing activities regionally.

• Ensure immediate response times to streamline invoicing and resolve issues.

• Report directly to the financial headquarters in Ecuador.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a valid legal license to sign financial statements in Costa Rica.

• Proven minimum experience of 3 to 4 years in general and tax accounting positions within service or technology companies (software, consulting, intangibles).

• Extensive knowledge of local tax legislation, periodic tax obligations, and electronic invoicing regulations.

• Solid understanding of intercompany transactions, international double taxation treaties, multi-currency conversion, and exchange rate treatment.

• Practical experience operating or implementing accounting systems and ERPs.

• Desirable experience with QuickBooks, SAP, or local accounting systems.

• Ability to manage priorities independently, anticipate deadlines and internal audit requirements, and propose concrete solutions.

• Strong communication skills with the agility, clarity, and urgency necessary to engage with regional finance leaders.

• Flexibility to operate in dual accounting frameworks, adapt to regulations across multiple LATAM jurisdictions, and structure processes in dynamic environments.
