This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Drive large-scale software projects for international clients

• Manage accounting and taxation for operations in Costa Rica

• Report directly to the financial headquarters in Ecuador

• Lead and execute monthly accounting closures

• Provide consolidated financial information in dollars timely and in a standardized format to the headquarters in Ecuador

• Ensure compliance with local and intercompany tax obligations

• Apply criteria for international agreements and exchange rate differentials

• Assess, propose, and facilitate the integration or migration of the chart of accounts and local accounting records to QuickBooks

• Optimize data traceability

• Coordinate regional accounting and purchasing activities

• Streamline invoicing and resolve incidents

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a valid legal authorization to sign financial statements in Costa Rica

• A minimum of 3 to 4 years of proven experience in general and tax accounting roles within the services or technology sector (software, consulting, intangibles)

• Comprehensive understanding of local tax legislation, periodic tax obligations, and electronic invoicing regulations

• Solid knowledge of intercompany transactions, international double taxation treaties, multi-currency conversion, and exchange rate handling

• Practical experience operating or implementing accounting systems and ERPs

• Preferred experience with QuickBooks, SAP, or local accounting systems

• Ability to independently manage priorities, anticipate deadlines and internal audit requirements, and propose concrete solutions

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage promptly, clearly, and with a sense of urgency with regional finance leaders

• Flexibility to operate under dual accounting frameworks, adapt to multiple LATAM jurisdiction regulations, and structure processes in dynamic environments
