Bookkeeper, AR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Generate customer invoices accurately and punctually across all Group entities, adhering to contracts, sales orders, and approved pricing.

• Issue software resale license invoices, ensuring each invoice aligns with supplier costs and contract terms, while highlighting upcoming renewals and expirations.

• Maintain billing trackers and oversee billing milestones, collaborating with Sales and Operations to ensure all billable activities are invoiced promptly.

• Monitor debtor aging, follow up on overdue accounts, allocate customer payments against NetSuite invoices, and escalate any disputes or long-overdue balances.

• Manage the AR mailboxes to resolve billing inquiries and process approved credit notes.

• Establish and maintain customer records, facilitating customer onboarding.

• Apply US sales tax codes to customer transactions, prepare US sales tax reconciliations, and address sales tax inquiries.

• Assist with month-end processes by preparing deferred and unbilled revenue reconciliations and the software resale reconciliation for review by the AR Lead, while also aiding with audit requests.

• Report directly to the AR Lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bookkeeping or accounting qualification (e.g., certificate or diploma in accounting).

• Over 4 years of experience in accounts receivable, encompassing invoicing, collections, and revenue reconciliations.

• Practical experience in billing software licenses or subscriptions.

• NetSuite experience is highly beneficial (or a similar ERP); familiarity with Kantata is a plus; strong Excel skills are essential.

• Experience with US sales tax is an advantage, as is experience in multi-entity environments.

• A detail-oriented and organized professional who can effectively manage a busy mailbox, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly and professionally with customers.
