Consultant – Learning Designer, Sustainable Finance, Landscape Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Assist in course scoping and initiation alongside the course development coordinator.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts and project personnel to create course concept notes.

• Lead the analysis of training needs and outline learner profiles, learning gaps, and desired competencies.

• Establish measurable, competency-based learning objectives and course outcomes.

• Evaluate the learning context, including technology, language, time constraints, and accessibility.

• Create course outlines that align outcomes with learning activities and assessments.

• Coordinate consultations with subject matter experts and incorporate their feedback.

• Design blended online and offline learning activities as required.

• Work with subject matter experts on content and learning assets development.

• Produce course prototypes that capture the intended look, feel, and interactive features.

• Develop comprehensive course scripts detailing structure, narration, interaction logic, feedback, activities, assessments, and development guidelines.

• Facilitate collaborative course design and secure formal approval.

• Construct approved courses using specified authoring tools.

• Acquire approval for alpha and beta versions of courses.

• Generate SCORM-compliant modules and incorporate multimedia and interactive components.

• Ensure technical functionality, accessibility, and compliance with platform standards.

• Oversee quality control, copy-editing, translation, and learning management system administration.

• Design course pages and establish learner analytics.

• Conduct pilot tests of courses and revise based on the findings.

• Assist in course marketing and outreach efforts.

• Provide learner support and promote a nurturing learning community.

• Design and implement surveys, interviews, and analytics to gather learner feedback.

• Analyze feedback and compile evaluation reports.

• Supervise assessments and manage certification processes.

• Utilize evaluation data and learner feedback to enhance learning experiences.

• Keep meticulous records of the design process.

• Experience in learning design, instructional design, or a related field is expected, though no specific minimum years or credentials are mandated.

• Competence in conducting training needs analysis.

• Ability to define learner profiles, identify learning gaps, set competencies, and formulate measurable learning objectives and course outcomes.

• Familiarity with relevant learning theories.

• Capability to analyze learning contexts, including technology, language, time constraints, and accessibility issues.

• Skill in designing competency-based curricula, online and blended learning experiences, as well as online/offline activities.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and project staff.

• Experience in developing course outlines, prototypes, scripts, e-learning materials, and interactive assessments.

• Proficiency in using selected authoring tools to create courses.

• Capability to produce SCORM-compliant modules.

• Knowledge of multimedia, interactive elements, accessibility standards, and platform compliance.

• Ability to facilitate quality control, copy-editing, translation, and administration of learning management systems.

• Skill in designing course pages and defining learner analytics.

• Competence in pilot testing courses and integrating learner feedback.

• Ability to conduct surveys, interviews, and evaluations based on analytics.

• Experience in managing assessments and certification procedures.

• Knowledge of sustainable finance and/or landscape finance is implied by the role title, though no specific qualifications are required.
