This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malawi.
• Provide additional capacity for specific, time-sensitive health policy advocacy and communication projects.
• Conduct analyses of political economies, stakeholder landscapes, and strategies for influence.
• Create and implement advocacy campaigns, including theories of change, power mapping, messaging, moment planning, and coalition mobilization.
• Produce policy briefs, positioning papers, technical reports, presentations, and various advocacy tools.
• Analyze health financing and public financial management, encompassing budget cycles, domestic resource mobilization, investment cases, and fiscal-space analysis.
• Quickly synthesize evidence into outputs that are relevant for decision-making.
• Visualize and communicate intricate data through engaging storytelling.
• Engage with ministries of health, finance, and national regulatory bodies from a technical perspective.
• Support advocacy initiatives at regional, continental, and multilateral levels.
• Develop media strategies, op-eds, press materials, polling, public opinion research, and launch packages.
• Facilitate and organize collaborative processes that involve governments, donors, civil society, and researchers.
• Design and execute high-level global and regional events.
• Create advocacy and funding proposals for philanthropic, bilateral, and multilateral donors.
• Proven experience in health policy, advocacy, or governmental engagement in low- and middle-income, as well as multilateral contexts.
• Proficiency in English.
• Excellent client-facing communication and facilitation abilities.
• Capacity to work independently in fast-paced, multicultural, and politically sensitive settings.
• Strong project management skills.
• Degree in public policy, public health, economics, international development, or equivalent experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in designing and executing advocacy or political campaigns that resulted in tangible changes in government policy, budget, or public commitment (preferred).
• Skills in systems thinking and problem mapping (preferred).
• Experience in digital and earned media campaigns (preferred).
• Professional fluency in French or Portuguese (preferred).
• Direct experience advising ministries of health or finance, national regulatory authorities, or working within a legislative or regional body (preferred).
• Specialized knowledge in one or more relevant areas of health policy and communications (preferred).
• Established connections with key health policymakers and networks in targeted regions (preferred).
• Previous work with or understanding of international donors and financing mechanisms (preferred).
• CV not exceeding 3 pages, or a capability statement for organizations.
• A brief cover letter limited to 1 page.
• Availability for short-notice deployments or prioritized remote technical support.
• Short-term consultant engagements on a project-by-project basis.
