Construction Services Manager – Roof

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Manage and supervise construction-phase projects from their initiation to final closeout.

• Track construction timelines, key milestones, deliverables, budgets, payment applications, change orders, risk factors, delays, budget discrepancies, and financial impacts.

• Lead pre-construction meetings and set up project communication and administrative processes.

• Provide recommendations for corrective measures and adjustments to clients as necessary.

• Ensure that contractual obligations are met throughout the construction process.

• Oversee the completion of construction updates and finalize closeout documentation.

• Monitor project performance and escalate issues that may affect schedule, budget, quality, or client satisfaction.

• Enforce expectations for Field Consultants regarding on-site project management and technical proficiency.

• Visit project sites as required to ensure quality assurance and foster relationships.

• Handle multiple simultaneous projects, schedules, resources, and priorities effectively.

• Act as the primary contact for clients and roofing contractors during the construction phase.

• Build and nurture relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Consultants, Account Managers, Drafters, and Project Coordinators from project kickoff to closeout.

• Communicate updates on project status, risks, decisions, and recommendations.

• Manage client expectations and assist in resolving project-related issues.

• Provide prompt feedback on Daily Construction Reports and client communications.

• Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.

• Ensure that project documentation is accurate, complete, and adheres to internal standards.

• Review material submittals, RFIs, and change order/change directive requests.

• Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements for workflow and client satisfaction.

• Represent Benchmark's commitment to professionalism, technical excellence, and client service.

• Participate in training as needed.

• Contribute to projects and initiatives as requested by the Roof Leadership Team.

• Foster accountability, safety, and technical excellence within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across the U.S. (10-20% of the time).

• 2-5 years of experience in project management, design, and/or construction administration for commercial and industrial roofing projects.

• Basic understanding of commercial roofing systems and construction quality assurance practices.

• Experience in leading, supervising, or mentoring project teams or subcontractors.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and project planning capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Capacity to build and maintain strong, positive, and enduring relationships with clients.

• A passion for technical excellence, a commitment to quality, and a dedication to continuous learning, growth, and improvement.

• Capability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

• Ability to access commercial/industrial roofs using ladders, stairs, and/or steps.

• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to crawl in and out of confined spaces occasionally.

• Preferred: project management experience in engineering, architecture, construction management, or roofing product manufacturing.

• Preferred: knowledge of ERP systems; Benchmark utilizes Deltek Vantagepoint.

• Preferred: familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
