This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.
• Oversee and execute transportation, municipal infrastructure, and construction engineering projects for clients across North Dakota.
• Act as Project Engineer for construction initiatives.
• Collaborate with contractors, clients, utility providers, and regulatory bodies.
• Conduct construction observation, manage contracts, track quantities, monitor schedules, and ensure quality assurance activities.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary SEH teams to develop infrastructure and construction solutions.
• Represent SEH in construction progress, public, and coordination meetings.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to construction personnel, technicians, and junior engineering staff.
• Assist in business development by managing client relationships, developing proposals, participating in project interviews, and implementing pursuit strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain North Dakota PE licensure within a suitable timeframe.
• Proven experience in providing construction engineering, observation, administration, or resident engineering services for transportation and/or municipal infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with construction specifications, contract documents, change orders, pay estimates, and QA/QC procedures.
• Experience in coordinating with contractors, public agencies, and project stakeholders throughout the construction process.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management capabilities.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across North Dakota as necessary.
• Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Bismarck-Mandan area or be open to relocation.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that complies with SEH’s Driving Program requirements.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Preferred: Experience with NDDOT, local municipalities, or county agencies.
• Preferred: Background as a Construction Representative, Construction Manager, or Construction Engineer.
• Preferred: Knowledge of roadway, bridge, utility, water, wastewater, or site development construction.
• Preferred: Experience in client relationship development and business pursuit.
• Preferred: Skills in mentoring and developing technical staff.
• Preferred: Experience in managing multiple active construction projects.
