Construction Project Manager, Texas, Midwest

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning, execution, delivery, completion, and financial outcomes of intricate multi-phase construction projects.

• Manage various retail construction projects, which include retail outlets, restaurants, big-box stores, convenience stores, gas stations, distribution centers, and EV charging stations.

• Handle projects related to tenant improvements, renovations, expansions, and new construction.

• Establish project goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

• Supervise consultants, general contractors, vendors, specialty contractors, internal teams, and developers.

• Oversee all project phases, including entitlement, design, permitting, bidding, contracting, construction, store startup, turnover, and closeout.

• Manage contract administration, change orders, budgets, schedules, and client delivery expectations.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners across various locations and states.

• Track milestones and deliverables, providing regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation utilizing proprietary or client software.

• Prepare proposals, formulate budgets, forecast, and manage project finances effectively.

• Identify and address project risks proactively to solve issues as they arise.

• Evaluate project execution and implement ongoing improvements.

• Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws, codes, policies, and safety standards.

• Provide timely customer service and proactive solutions to clients.

• Travel to client/project sites across the U.S. via plane, motor vehicle, or train; onsite visits may extend up to one continuous week.

• A Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a relevant field, accompanied by a minimum of three years of related experience.

• Alternatively, five or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.

• A valid driver's license is required, with no significant motor vehicle accident points/violations (clean driving record).

• Current PMP certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with project components, processes, and methodologies.

• Strong time management, active listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.

• Proficiency in working successfully from a remote location.

• Capacity to meet the physical demands of the job.

• Must possess a cell phone and provide your own internet service.

• Willingness to travel extensively to client/project sites across the U.S., potentially 50%-90% of the work schedule.

• Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

• Proficient in operating an electronic tablet, computer, and motor vehicle.

• Overnight travel away from home may be necessary.
