Construction Project Manager – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the delivery of data center facilities from initial planning and budgeting through the design, construction, start-up, and commissioning phases.

• Simultaneously manage multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to company design specifications.

• Lead the development of greenfield new constructions and significant phased expansions.

• Supervise architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

• Direct request for proposal (RFP) processes and procurement activities, which includes bid assessment, negotiation, and contractor selection.

• Oversee project budgets, change orders, and timelines.

• Maintain reporting through Procore.

• Collaborate with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team to ensure site safety.

• Facilitate clean handovers to facility operations.

• Proactively communicate project risks to stakeholders at an early stage.

• Ensure facilities are operationally ready.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading data center construction projects.

• A bachelor's degree with a strong technical foundation in engineering or equivalent practical experience.

• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and trades.

• Proficient in interpreting drawings, specifications, schematics, and operational sequences.

• Experience with scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6, familiar with DCMA 14 or similar methodologies.

• Knowledge of Procore, methods of procedure (MOPs), National Electrical Testing Association (NETA) standards, building management systems (BMS) and energy management systems (EPMS), access control, CCTV, and low voltage and network systems.

• Exceptional organizational skills.

• Capacity to articulate complex issues to non-technical stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel 50 to 60% of the time across various regions.

• Comfort working in active construction environments.
