This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee all facets of the project lifecycle for diverse construction projects within the Canadian portfolio.
• Aid in the negotiation and issuance of primary contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Execute project contract administration in line with company policies and procedures.
• Track project expenses through change order and contract modification processes.
• Support the creation of recovery plans when project timelines or budgets face challenges.
• Review and refresh schedules, cost forecasts, and cash flow needs with the Construction Team on a biweekly basis and with the CIO monthly or as scheduled.
• Prepare and process payment requests from general contractors, subcontractors, and invoices from consultants and suppliers.
• Work collaboratively with Accounting on coding, progress-draw payments, and recoverable expenses.
• Coordinate drawing management, scheduling, and associated costs.
• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, architects, and engineers.
• Address and resolve project conflicts.
• Finalize project closeout documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding deficiencies.
• Direct the activities of the construction administrative assistant.
• Liaise with building officials and regulatory bodies.
• Travel frequently to construction and project sites across the Canadian portfolio to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to compliance while performing essential administrative tasks remotely.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• At least five years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Experience with companies that have multiple site locations is essential.
• Experience in self-storage is a plus.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction and technological methodologies.
• Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and resolving issues.
• Deep knowledge of construction technology methods and the application of building codes.
• Capability to work efficiently in a remote/home-office setting while managing frequent travel to project sites across Canada.
• A valid driver's license and passport are required.
