This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee all facets of the project lifecycle for various construction projects within the Canadian portfolio.
• Assist in negotiating and issuing primary contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Execute project contract administration in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Track project costs via change order and contract adjustment processes.
• Aid in formulating recovery strategies when project schedules or budgets face potential risks.
• Review and refresh schedules, cost forecasts, and cash flow requirements biweekly with the Construction Team and monthly with the CIO.
• Prepare and process progress draws from general contractors, payment applications from subcontractors, and invoices from consultants and suppliers.
• Collaborate with accounting to guarantee correct coding, payment of progress draws, and recoverable expenses.
• Coordinate drawing management, scheduling, and costs to meet management's expectations.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with general contractors, architects, and engineers.
• Resolve project disputes promptly.
• Complete project closeout documentation for archiving or transition to Operations.
• Follow up on outstanding deficiencies.
• Direct activities of the construction administrative assistant.
• Coordinate with building officials and regulatory agencies as needed.
• Travel regularly to construction and project sites across the Canadian portfolio to supervise progress, quality, and compliance while performing core administrative tasks remotely.
• Conduct general administrative responsibilities and any other assigned tasks.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is mandatory.
• A minimum of five years of direct experience is required.
• Experience with companies that have multi-site operations is essential.
• Experience in Self-Storage is an advantage.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail are required.
• Excellent time management abilities with a proven record of meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software is required.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction and technological methods.
• Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks while analyzing and addressing problems.
• In-depth knowledge of construction and technological methods as well as the application of building codes.
• Capability to work efficiently in a remote/home-office setting while managing frequent travel to project sites across Canada.
• A valid driver's license and passport are required.
