This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle for various construction projects within the Canadian portfolio.
β’ Aid in the negotiation and issuance of prime contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
β’ Conduct project contract administration in line with Company policies and procedures.
β’ Track project costs through change order and contract modification processes.
β’ Support the development of recovery strategies when project schedules or budgets are at risk.
β’ Review and revise schedules, cost forecasts, and cash flow requirements with the Construction Team biweekly and with the CIO monthly or as scheduled.
β’ Prepare and process progress draws for general contractors, applications for payment from subcontractors, and invoices from consultants and suppliers.
β’ Collaborate with the Accounting department on coding, progress draw payments, and recoverable costs.
β’ Ensure drawing coordination, scheduling, and costs meet management's expectations.
β’ Build and maintain relationships with construction vendors, general contractors, architects, and engineers.
β’ Address and resolve project disputes.
β’ Complete project closeout documentation for archiving or transfer to Operations.
β’ Follow up on outstanding deficiencies.
β’ Supervise the activities of the construction administrative assistant.
β’ Coordinate with building officials and regulatory agencies.
β’ Travel frequently to construction and project sites across Canada to monitor progress, quality, and compliance while performing core administrative duties remotely.
β’ Execute general administrative tasks and any other assigned responsibilities.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
β’ At least five years of direct experience is required.
β’ Experience with companies that have multi-site operations is a MUST.
β’ Background in Self-Storage is a plus.
β’ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
β’ Excellent time management abilities with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of construction and technology methods.
β’ Capability to effectively multi-task while analyzing and resolving issues.
β’ In-depth knowledge of construction and technology methods and the application of building codes.
β’ Ability to thrive in a remote/home-office setting while frequently traveling to project sites across Canada.
β’ Valid driver's license and passport are required.
