Construction Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.

📋 Description

• Conduct inspections of contractor work and assess construction documentation to ensure adherence to contract plans and specifications.

• Carry out on-site inspections and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with contract stipulations.

• Analyze project schedules, compare actual field progress with baseline plans, and document any delays.

• Offer site progress reports to the Project Manager, Project Controls Manager, and Scheduler.

• Participate in preparatory meetings and engage in required inspection processes as per the contract.

• Develop and maintain thorough project documentation.

• Act as a technical authority for field inspections and audits, with a focus on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.

• Serve as a primary contact for significant projects and play a role in strategic decision-making.

• Oversee inspections across various assignments to uphold quality standards.

• Define objectives and set goals for inspection teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma plus 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Preferred experience in facilities maintenance and facilities management.

• Capable of obtaining the Hawaii Department of Transportation – Materials, Testing, and Research Branch (MTRB) Field Sampling and Testing Qualification Certification.

• Must be able to secure OSHA 30 Certification.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor construction environments with uneven terrain and varying weather conditions.

• Physical capability to perform repetitive bending/stooping, manual movements, work at heights, lift and carry equipment, climb stairs, use portable ladders, wear fall protection gear, work in confined spaces, and lift objects over 25 pounds.
