This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs from construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Analyze project documentation to comprehend scope, materials, labor needs, and specifications.
• Prepare meticulous and competitive bids along with cost estimates.
• Source and confirm current supplier pricing.
• Transform takeoff quantities into precise dollar estimates.
• Prepare and oversee RFQ submissions.
• Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with subcontractors regarding scope, pricing, and project requirements.
• Assess supplier and subcontractor quotes for completeness and accuracy.
• Manage estimate revisions and pricing updates.
• Assist in various preconstruction activities.
• Keep accurate estimating records and documentation.
• Utilize construction management and estimating software on a daily basis.
• Implement Florida building codes, permitting requirements, and construction practices in estimate development.
• Facilitate successful and timely bid submissions.
• Identify pricing gaps, scope discrepancies, and potential cost risks prior to bid submission.
• Operate independently and make prudent estimating decisions with minimal supervision.
• A minimum of 5 years of construction estimating experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with Florida-based construction projects.
• Strong grasp of Florida building codes and local construction standards.
• Familiarity with Florida permit processes and code-compliant construction practices.
• Proven capability to carry out detailed takeoffs and translate them into accurate cost estimates.
• In-depth understanding of real-world supplier pricing and construction cost structures.
• Experience in obtaining pricing directly from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, labor, and project costs.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
• Hands-on experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, ProConnect, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), and JobTread is preferred.
• Experience with Florida-based general contractors or construction firms is preferred.
• Experience estimating projects with substantial permitting and code requirements is preferred.
• Established relationships or experience working with Florida suppliers and subcontractors is preferred.
• Experience overseeing the complete estimating process from takeoff to bid submission is preferred.
• Availability to work from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Must be ready to start between mid to late September 2026.
• Work remotely.
