This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure the accuracy of the CMDB by adding, updating, validating, and reconciling records of configuration items.
• Oversee the relationships, attributes, and lifecycle data of configuration items to guarantee traceability across various systems.
• Assist with CM audits, CI verification activities, and reconciliation efforts.
• Detect and rectify discrepancies, outdated information, or misaligned attributes of configuration items.
• Revise baselines and document configuration changes in accordance with CM governance protocols.
• Collaborate with the CM Lead on workflows for configuration control, documentation updates, and process enhancements.
• Partner with cybersecurity and ISSM teams to ensure CI data is consistent with RMF artifacts and control requirements.
• Aid in inventory tracking, asset management, and the validation of system configurations.
• Provide configuration-related information to release and DevSecOps teams for deployment or pipeline activities.
• Generate reports, summaries of configuration items, and data extracts for technical teams and government stakeholders.
• Maintain CM documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), diagrams, and definitions of CI attributes.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at minimizing configuration drift and enhancing data integrity across various environments.
• Must possess an active Top Secret clearance, backed by a Tier 5 background investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in configuration management, CMDB administration, IT asset management, or enterprise IT operations.
• Proven experience in updating CI records and ensuring CMDB accuracy.
• Background in participating in CM audits, CI reconciliation, or baseline validation.
• Experience in supporting configuration governance, documentation, or asset tracking processes.
• Familiarity with collaboration involving engineering, cybersecurity, or operations teams on CI-related tasks.
• Strong comprehension of configuration management principles and the CI lifecycle.
• Knowledge of CMDB frameworks, CI relationships, and attribute modeling.
• Awareness of ITIL v4 practices pertinent to configuration management and change control.
• Understanding of data integrity, audit necessities, and baseline management.
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification is mandatory.
• A certification related to CMDB is required.
• Experience with automated asset discovery tools or platforms for CM automation is preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud-native CI attributes and components of hybrid infrastructure is preferred.
• Experience using tools for configuration validation or systems for inventory management is preferred.
• Additional DoD 8570/8140 certifications are preferred.
• CM-specific certifications such as CMII or CMPIC are preferred.
• High attention to detail for managing configuration data and spotting discrepancies.
• Excellent organizational and documentation capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills for reconciling CI attributes, relationships, and baselines.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Capability to manage multiple CM tasks within a fast-paced mission environment.
