This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +18 more states.
• Prepare increasingly intricate compliance tests and year-end documentation.
• Evaluate plan eligibility criteria and identify eligible participants.
• Assess plan allocation conditions and compute requested contributions and forfeiture distributions.
• Execute ADP/ACP nondiscrimination, 415 annual additions, 416 Top Heavy, and 410(b) coverage assessments.
• Conduct self-reviews and peer reviews as necessary.
• Compile, review, and distribute Forms 5500, 5330, 8955-SSA, and other mandatory regulatory documents.
• Reconcile and prepare Form 5500 along with applicable schedules for large filer plans.
• Support Plan Consultants in addressing auditor inquiries.
• Maintain a working knowledge of moderately complex plans, including dual eligibility, integrated profit sharing, ADP/ACP testing failures, 403(b), Davis Bacon, MEP, and PEP plans.
• Expand knowledge of complex plans, including cross-tested profit sharing, balance-forward valuations, and defined benefit and cash balance combination plans.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to testing and Form 5500.
• Collaborate with other departments as necessary.
• Assist and guide team members with complex inquiries and challenges.
• Partner with Managers to refine processes and implement best practices.
• Prepare asset reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare external asset and balance-forward earnings distributions and participant validations.
• Draft plan documents, including restatements, amendments, SPDs, SMMs, and notices.
• Assist with QDRO allocations and corrective earnings calculations.
• Mentor and train fellow team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Associate degree and over 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ASPPA Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation is mandatory.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting retirement adoption agreements, program manuals, government instructions, and guidance.
• Capable of composing reports and correspondence via email.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with employees across the organization.
• Advanced mathematical skills, including fractions, percentages, and ratios.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Capacity to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.
