Complex Claims Master Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Assess coverage for designated complex claims and investigate aspects such as coverage, liability, legal environment, exposure, and damages.

• Make informed decisions regarding claim resolutions.

• Choose, direct, and oversee both internal and external resources and specialists.

• Engage with claims staff, business partners, insured individuals, claimants, agents, attorneys, insurers, vendors, contractors, and public adjusters.

• Establish and evaluate claim reserves while completing status reports on claims.

• Negotiate settlements and refer claims that exceed authority with appropriate recommendations.

• Remain updated on industry developments, trends, processes, technologies, and best practices.

• Support less experienced claims professionals in handling large or complex losses.

• Take part in mentoring, development, training, and education for claims professionals.

• Engage in complex exposure file analysis and strategy formulation.

• Travel as required, including frequent use of an assigned fleet vehicle and short-notice or daily driving responsibilities.

• Act as a technical consultant and subject matter expert for business partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in handling complex claims.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Driving record that meets company standards.

• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certification is preferred.

• Associate in Claims (AIC) certification is preferred.

• Knowledge in claims adjustment, evaluation, investigation, and management.

• Experience with claims management systems.

• Familiarity with the insurance industry.

• Understanding of business process improvement techniques.

• Knowledge of financial controls.

• Proficiency in claims case management.

• Skills in data analysis and reporting.

• Knowledge related to cost optimization.
