Competency Assessor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conduct remote competency assessment meetings with the adviser population utilizing in-house technology.

• Identify areas for development and advance them through suitable action plans.

• Collaborate across functions and gather information from all business areas.

• Clarify and implement the oversight contract with Appointed Representatives and Registered Individuals.

• Provide education to Appointed Representatives and Registered Individuals regarding compliance obligations, Treating Customers Fairly responsibilities, and achieving Good Customer Outcomes.

• Execute the risk assessment process and evaluate the skills, competencies, and knowledge necessary for maintaining competence.

• Carry out Adviser Reviews, compile reports, deliver coaching and feedback, recognize risks, and escalate issues to the Firm Compliance Partner.

• Offer ongoing feedback to senior management on concerns identified within the Quilter group.

• Perform customer care calls to validate findings or assist with competency sign-off.

• Manage identified issues to resolution through enhanced monitoring event action plans and governance action plans.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must hold at least a Level 4 Diploma.

• Demonstrable experience in the financial services industry.

• Experience in a T&C supervisory role is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and curious.

• Capable of working independently and utilizing personal initiative.

• Proficient with computers and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to adhere to compliance regulations and uphold standards.

• Excellent communication and questioning abilities.

• Sound judgment in assessing risks and formulating action plans.

• Experience with Network/National and IFA/restricted advice models is advantageous but not essential.

• This is an SMCR certified role: CASS Oversight, functions requiring qualifications, and manager of Certification employees.
