This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Enhance, expand, and mentor volunteer-driven community Affiliates that focus on fundraising, audience expansion, and mission fulfillment.
• Cultivate and manage relationships to meet a fundraising target of $1,300,000 within the portfolio.
• Set and accomplish revenue, outreach, and mission objectives for designated communities.
• Provide strategic leadership and implement best practices for volunteer-led Affiliates and PurpleStride events.
• Recruit, retain, nurture, and hold volunteer leaders accountable, including planning for succession.
• Travel to the designated portfolio markets at least once each month.
• Execute national campaigns and priorities at the local level.
• Organize local PurpleStride events in collaboration with volunteer committees and event logistics teams.
• Recruit and mentor teams and individuals to meet participation and fundraising targets.
• Develop and oversee sponsorship pipelines, proposals, and sponsor partnerships.
• Introduce stakeholders to additional PanCAN opportunities while collaborating with other teams.
• Lead community assessments, action planning, and goal-setting initiatives.
• Create strategic plans aimed at engaging new audiences.
• Identify emerging volunteer talent, high achievers, and regional or national sponsorship prospects.
• Maintain records of volunteers, donors, and contacts in the CRM database.
• Represent PanCAN to grassroots volunteers, corporate donors, and diverse community audiences.
• Manage budgets and performance metrics, report on progress, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year accredited university in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in peer-to-peer fundraising, community outreach and mobilization initiatives, volunteer management, and development, ideally in regionally focused programs.
• Understanding of volunteer program management and organizational management principles and best practices.
• Strong expertise in peer-to-peer fundraising programs and strategies.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with diverse individuals across all organizational levels.
• Proficient oral and written communication abilities.
• Capable of building and maintaining relationships with staff, volunteers, and donors both in-person and remotely.
• Ability to evaluate and analyze data to inform decisions or recommendations.
• Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple projects and markets concurrently.
• Familiarity with the corporate business environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM database systems; Salesforce is preferred.
• Knowledge of cancer advocacy, outreach and awareness programs, and grassroots marketing is advantageous.
• Skills in remote project and team management.
• Willingness to travel domestically and comfort in navigating new cities.
