Community Navigator – Sickle Cell Disease

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Educate patients and their caregivers on ATTR-CM and Sickle Cell Disease, including treatment options, local and regional support resources, and health and wellness information.

• Provide continuous education and awareness regarding the disease throughout each patient's journey.

• Allocate time between ATTR-CM and SCD, dedicating approximately 85% and 15% respectively, while maintaining expertise in disease states and community relationships.

• Connect patients with pertinent community and Pfizer resources while assisting in care navigation.

• Engage with underserved communities to enhance equitable access to education, resources, and support.

• Collaborate with Key Account Directors, management, and cross-functional teams across two brand teams.

• Establish objectives, manage intricate projects, and oversee partnerships with healthcare systems, HCPs/educators, and advocacy partners.

• Act as a subject matter expert and disseminate knowledge throughout the organization.

• Create solutions for complex issues, advocate for innovation, and put new ideas, processes, or products into action.

• Present the Community Navigator role and Pfizer support resources at local, regional, and national events.

• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to identify patient needs and customize engagement.

• Provide both in-person and virtual engagement using print and digital materials.

• Refer patients and caregivers to local health and wellness organizations.

• Comply with regulations and policies while collaborating with legal and compliance teams.

• Engage patients and caregivers through various communication channels.

• Offer local insights to enhance patient engagement materials and support resources.

• Organize travel and event-related materials.


⛳️ Requirements

• A B.S. or B.A. degree is required.

• A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industries.

• Familiarity with ATTR-CM and/or Sickle Cell Disease is preferred.

• Capability to develop and maintain disease-state and community knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas.

• Proficiency in prioritizing effectively across multiple responsibilities.

• Exceptional communication, listening, and presentation abilities.

• Experience working within regulated environments and adhering to compliance guidelines.

• Extensive collaboration experience with diverse clients and stakeholders.

• Familiarity with responsible business practices and compassionate communication.

• Experience engaging diverse and underserved patient communities with cultural sensitivity.

• Knowledge of Pfizer and industry compliance guidelines for collaboration with Medical and Access & Reimbursement colleagues.

• Ability to deliver concise and impactful presentations with integrity and empathy.

• Strong attention to detail along with excellent organizational and business skills.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including weekends and evenings.

• A clinical background is preferred (RN, APRN, NP, ARNP, ACSW, LCSW, MPH).

• Knowledge of ATTR-CM and/or Sickle Cell Disease and patient/public advocacy is preferred.

• Experience with hematology, rare disease, or cardiology patient communities is preferred.

• Residing in the specified geography is preferred.

• Bilingual proficiency in certain areas is preferred.

• Candidates must have authorization to be employed in the U.S. by any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.

• U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
