Community Navigator – Sickle Cell Disease

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide education to patients and caregivers regarding ATTR-CM and SCD, including treatment alternatives, support services, and health and wellness resources.

• Deliver ongoing disease-state education and awareness customized for each community.

• Distribute efforts between ATTR-CM and SCD, approximately 85%/15%, while sustaining knowledge and relationships in both fields.

• Connect patients with pertinent community and Pfizer resources and accurately assess reimbursement requirements.

• Engage with underserved communities to promote equitable access to educational resources and support.

• Collaborate with Key Account Directors, management, brand teams, and cross-functional partners.

• Establish objectives, manage complex projects, and oversee partnerships with healthcare systems, HCPs/educators, and advocacy groups.

• Act as a subject matter expert, sharing insights across the organization.

• Create solutions, advocate for innovation, and implement new ideas, processes, or products.

• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to discern patient needs and customize engagement.

• Provide both in-person and virtual engagement utilizing print and digital resources.

• Present approved educational materials at local, regional, and national events.

• Refer patients and caregivers to local health and wellness organizations.

• Offer local insights to enhance patient engagement materials and support resources.

• Organize travel and materials for events.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree is required.

• A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industries.

• Experience with ATTR-CM and/or Sickle Cell Disease is essential.

• Capability to develop and sustain disease-state and community knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas.

• Proven exceptional communication, listening, and presentation abilities.

• Demonstrated proficiency in working within regulated environments and adhering to compliance standards.

• A history of effective collaboration with diverse clients and stakeholders.

• Experience in responsible business practices and empathetic communication.

• Proven experience engaging diverse and underserved patient communities with cultural sensitivity.

• Familiarity with Pfizer and industry compliance guidelines for collaboration with Medical and Access & Reimbursement teams.

• Ability to provide concise and meaningful presentations with integrity and empathy.

• Strong attention to detail, along with strong organizational and business skills.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including weekends and evenings.

• A clinical background is preferred (RN, APRN, NP, ARNP, ACSW, LCSW, MPH).

• Knowledge of ATTR-CM and/or Sickle Cell Disease, as well as patient/public advocacy.

• Experience with hematology, rare disease, or cardiology patient communities.

• This is a remote/field-based role; preference will be given to candidates residing in specified geographic areas.

• Bilingual proficiency in certain regions is preferred.

• Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer.

• U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.
